About Me

My name is Calvin Williams, I am a Registered Therapist Counsellor (RTC) with ACCT (Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapist of Canada) Member: 3513, I have a supervisor that I meet with regularly. I graduated with Rhodes Wellness College with a Professional Counsellor Diploma Program, my goal is to teach you the client the tools necessary to grow.

I am an Indigenous man from Wit’at (Fort Babine) just north of Smithers B.C. The Village I grew up in was not a big one, surrounded by mountains, on the edge of a babine lake, the village had about 100 people who lived there year round.

I grew up second youngest in my family having five other siblings, each sibling has taught me something over the years, how to be resilient, how to be creative, how to reach out for help, how to power through, but most importantly how important family can be, that doesn’t mean that everything went well, it just means that family can be important.

I struggled in school, but was thriving in social life, being able to open conversation with anyone, and getting to know people very easily. After three years I left school to work as a youth pastor for six years in Witset. After getting myself into debt, I left that job to work as a labourer at the Pacific Inland Resources for 11 years, after leaving the mill I jumped around to different jobs for about 4 months and decided to get my diploma in counselling.

My Rhodes Wellness College journey started in 2022, as soon as I started the school I knew that it was the right fit, the classes made sense, and the work that was happening in me started after the first semester, as part of the hands on training my cohort had to put to use the things we were learning, we counselled each other to learn some of the many modalities out there, we looked at cognitive behavior therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
